Office Design

Moon Creative Lab is a venture studio founded in 2018 as part of Mitsui & Co. to collect business ideas from over 44,000 employees throughout the entire Mitsui & Co. group and create an impactful businesses.

As a member of Moon Creative Lab, I led a team to design a new office. Instead of focusing on a space emphasizing social distancing, often referred to as the "new normal" office, the goal was to create a more specialized space for creative work. Traditional offices have been designed with environments allowing assigned and flexible seating. However, with changing work styles, solo work can now be done at home or in cafes.

Therefore, it was thought that the office of the future should be a place that fosters creativity, encourages interaction, and evokes passion for working with colleagues. In designing the layout, the focus was on the flexible use of space that enables creative output. Free address areas were placed in open spaces with high ceilings, allowing for adaptable furniture arrangements based on specific activities without the need for walls. This creates an office space that can adapt to evolving work styles.
