Asking “Why?” is where science starts. Rather than trying to resolve issues with model answers, we must pose our own questions. Questioning, taking action, changing society. Creating the future of Planet Earth.
PARTY took part in the fundamental design, creative direction, design execution, and copywriting of this project for renewing Miraikan into “a place for cultivating the power to question and think.” The renewal we were responsible for are the LED signage (which doubles as chairs) displaying the questions of renowned individuals at Future Gate and Frontier Gate; “Nobel Q” area that displays the questions posed by Nobel prize laureates; “Co-Studio” where science communicators hold workshops; as well as navigation and signage.
For the experience design at Miraikan, we created the official app “Miraikan notebook.” The app features three functions to triple the fun during the visit: Eight model course “Quests” that each offers theme-based tours such as “If you got to hangout with aliens, what could you want to do?”; audio guide that introduces must-see highlights of the exhibits; and upon completing the model course, visitors could take AR (augmented reality) photos with Geo-Cosmos (Planet Earth globe) as background.
